Autorenporträt
Elvin C. Bell served sixteen years in elected public office in California.

He is a former correspondent for Time magazine and is a retired U. S. Air Force Colonel. He served four years in the Pentagon, and three special assignments in the White House-one as presidential advisor during the United States/Soviet Union summit conference.

During the Iron Curtain era, Bell led several intelligence missions into Russia, Poland and Czechoslovakia.

He commanded seven different military units, including a Squadron and a Group, during his 31 years of enlisted and commissioned service. During that service, he had military assignments in eleven different countries.

Bell's retirement ceremony in the Pentagon during the Reagan Administration was attended by Vice President Bush.

This is his eighteenth book.
