James W. Stone, MD received his BA degree from Williams College in Williamstown, MA and his MD degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Barnes Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis, MO, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is in private practice orthopedic surgery in Milwaukee, WI, specializing in orthopedic sports medicine with a special interest in ankle arthroscopy. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and has served on numerous committees of that association. He regularly instructs at arthroscopy and sports medicine courses both in the United States and internationally on current techniques in ankle arthroscopy and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and as an editor of ankle arthroscopy texts. John G. Kennedy, MD, MCh, FRCS is an ankle surgeon working primarily in sports injuries at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, NY. Dr. Kennedy graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin in 1989 and has since trained both in Ireland and in the United States. Having access to both European and American training has provided a unique opportunity to blend the best aspects of both systems. Pragmatic solutions combined with innovative surgery have therefore been the hallmark of Dr. Kennedy's practice. Arthroscopy of the joint and tendon are a backbone of Dr. Kennedy's practice, and the indications and practical therapies using the arthroscope are constantly evolving. To date, he has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publication, in addition to multiple book chapters and books on this area of expertise. Dr. Kennedy is a Master Instructor at the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) foot and ankle arthroscopy course, where he feels that he learns as much as he teaches from participants who attend from all over the world. This commitment to global teaching is further emphasized by the presence of several international orthopedic surgeons and researchers who train with Dr. Kennedy each year at his practice in New York City. This book from AANA on techniques in arthroscopy of the foot and ankle provides an excellent account for both basic and advanced arthroscopists to learn and further develop their skill set. It provides a comprehensive account of the most up-to-date concepts and procedures written by the foremost surgeons in the world.
