The Forgotten Folk Tales of Amîîrû is a collection of African traditional fireplace stories from the Meru community, a Bantu speaking tribe which inhabits the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. These stories are plotted in the pre-colonial setup in a typical Meru village life before the colonial era. Most folk tales have disappeared due to the prevalent lifestyle. This author wishes to preserve the ones he can remember through this book.

Autorenporträt

Peter M. M'Mûtungi was born and raised in Meru, Kenya. He studied in St. Lucy's primary school for the blind, Egoji, Meru, Salvation Army high school for the blind, Thika Kiambu, and later completed Advance Level Secondary education at Shimo La Tewa high school, Mombasa.

He is a retired Civil Servant of the republic of Kenya, living a quiet life on the slopes of Mt. Kenya in the garrison town of Nanyuki.

Peter spends his retirement life mainly as a Church pianist and music producer.

He loves reading, writing and listening to folk tales from diverse cultures, besides his music interests.
