The promise of impartiality to ourselves can only occur when we treat others the same way and is part of what makes each of us unique and special. This fable is a promise made between a fox cub and a sage hedgehog to treat one another as special by recognising one another as individuals, and to avoid arranging foxes and hedgehogs into groups, the cause of much of the prejudice and sadness we see in the world today. By treating one another as special and unique, we enhance our relationship with those arounds us, making you and I even more special in our exceptionality. Children are naturally impartial to others, but the world around us sometimes pushes them away from that blessing. Let's nurture it together and make our world a little more cheerful to use Hendra Hedgehog's words.
