The Future of our children is in our hands.
The universe is and has trusted us with birthing and bringing children into this world. Raising, nurturing, and mentoring them automatically becomes our primary responsibility. The word parent does not solely belong to the parents by birth but by being trusted with the duty and all the responsibilities required or expected from any parent.
The importance of parenting arises from its role as a buffer against adversity or a mediator. Parenting usually involves biological parents but is not confined to them. Carers, teachers, nurses, guardian, and others fulfil parenting tasks with children.
We owe it to our children to equip them with all the capabilities they'll need to thrive in the limitless world beyond the classrooms by Naveen Jain. We owe it to our children even to be the best parents or best guardians ever the best care givers.
What about the community is a question I asked myself; yes, the community also because our children come from different homes and upbringing; to meet with each other at a community space away from home.
Our children owe it to us to learn the values and norms being taught and displayed to them. They need to be able to differentiate between the wrong and the right; this includes in choosing the friends either at school or in the neighbourhood.
How we behave as adults, how we talk and even how we respond to different issues presented to us, will also serve as a guide to our children. I love the saying "Our children are our future" Now ask yourself, what kind of future are we grooming?
During my research I came upon this powerful truth about the relationship and the responsibilities for us as parents to them as children. As a parent, you are your child's first and most important teacher. When parents and families are involved in their children's schools and social development, the children do better and have better feelings about going to school.
As a parent, make children know that they can run to you when in trouble. Absolutely the most important thing you can do is to reassure your children from a young age that they can come to you with anything good or bad. Let them know you will love them no matter what and that you will always do what is best for them.
Parents should be more receptive to children's interests or choices and equip them with what it takes to realise their dreams. BE THE WIND BENEATH THEIR WINGS!!!!
