Autorenporträt
Philadelphia born and raised, James Francis Smith, CPA, CFP, a graduate of Incarnation Elementary School, Northeast Catholic High, and La Salle University's Evening Division, completed some graduate work at Temple University, before decades later earned an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University, rose to the position of Shipping Container and Containerboard Division Controller for Weyerhaeuser a fortune 500 Company before taking early retirement, earning a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) rank and opening a financial planning practice. An indication of the breath of his responsibility after a decade following Smith's retirement, the Weyerhaeuser Shipping Container Division was sold to International Paper Company for in excess of $6 billion, cash. After writing his first book, a financial planning book, "The Path to a Successful Retirement," his kids encouraged him to become an author of historical novels and tell about growing up in Philadelphia, during Prohibition, The Great Depression, and WWII. A period quickly fading from memory. The title of that book was "The O'Donnells of Philadelphia". His other half-dozen novels that followed make Smith the authority on Irish-American History.
