Autorenporträt
Poet and playwright Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) remains best known for his comedies of the 1890s, including The Importance of Being Earnest, and for his tragic imprisonment and untimely death. His only novel, the horror classic The Picture of Dorian Gray, continues to inspire works in the genre. Charles Robinson (1870-1937) was the middle brother of three, each successful illustrators during the Golden Age. Charles was best known for his color work, and a sense of quiet beauty which lived in his compositions. He was an active book illustrator his entire career.
