Henry the Hippo wants nothing more than to jump the river like the jumpy tree frogs, but he soon finds his journey to jump may not be as easy as he first hoped. This book aims to teach children the value of effort, determination, and practice through rhythmic, rhyming text that is fun and engaging, with a humorous undertone and overall uplifting message. Children will be taken on Henry's journey to achieve the dream that at first seemed impossible, but through his strength and perseverance and advice from a monkey, maybe just maybe, Henry will jump.

Autorenporträt
Even from a young age, Jessica has always been passionate about writing books for children. She initially wrote the first draft of her book The Hippo That Jumped in her final year of high school and went on to study primary education at Australian Catholic University. Using what she learned in her placement and studies, Jessica found inspiration and was determined to write books she believed could benefit children's development. She hopes to make an impact on an already full market by bringing uplifting and humorous stories with a strong message to the same shelves as those that inspired her.
