We sincerely trust that The Holy Spirit for Children, which includes a guide for parents to understand the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit better, will assist parents in sharing their journey of faith with their sons and daughters.

It is the authors' conviction that the earlier in life one encounters the reality of the Holy Spirit, the better for the individual and the church throughout their lifetimes. Children who mature in their faith with knowledge of the Holy Spirit will be led by the Spirit and shaped into a genuine commitment to discipleship. Parents are responsible for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual maturation of their children from day one. As Christian parents, we owe it to our children to be authentic in developing a climate of understanding that facilitates a personal relationship with the Triune God.

Autorenporträt

Jerry and Valera Heydenberk met in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1966. Valera was a missionary teacher of English in Wesley Girls School in Taipei, Taiwan, and Jerry was an American soldier on leave from Vietnam. They were married on June 16, 1968, in Grenada, Mississippi. Three children later-Dawn, Andrew, and Eve; six grandchildren: Dakota and Ciara Jones, Nathan and Jackson Heydenberk, and Kirstyn and Megan Groff; one great-grandson: Braxton Joshua Jones-VanWinkle-and nearly 40 years of combined ministry as pastors, and missionaries, they decided to write The Holy Spirit for Children. They are available to conduct Holy Spirit workshops for parents, children, and youth.
