There are more than veiled references to the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. The Spirit is seen as the creator, the renewer of the life of humanity in redemption, as the Person through whom the prophets of the Lord were inspired and through whom men and women received the gifts of wisdom for leadership, administration, and craftsmanship. Autorenporträt

Dr. Leon J. Wood (1918-1977) was professor of Old Testament Studies and Dean of the Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. He was educated at Calvin Theological Seminary with graduate studies in Israel through New York University and at the Oriental Institute, Chicago. He received his Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University. He has also authored "Elijah: Prophet of God"; "A Survey of Israel's History"; "The Holy Spirit in the Old Testament" and "Israel's United Monarchy".
