Charys endures the long flight to Earth anxious to lay her head on a pillow where she is safe from violence. Arriving quite late, she is greeted by Jax who realizes the leather clad woman is near exhaustion from traveling and leads her to the room he has made ready for her. Once in the room, Charys doesn't bother undressing and falls asleep on top of the covers. Several hours later, just before sunrise, her super senses wake her because they have detected an unanticipated sound in her room.

Reaching for the photon pistol she realizes she forgot to put under her pillow, she freezes and lets the situation play out. Her body is tense when she spies a strange figure closing the door to her room, Charys is ready to spring into action, she then realizes the figure is a young woman in her twenties. While she is processing this, the girl climbs onto the bed and sits on Charys's chest.
