Eugene F. Ware, a soldier of Iowa, a lawyer and public man of Kansas, and an author of both that state and Missouri.
His parents moved to Burlington, Iowas, in his childhood and he was educated in the public schools of that place. As a Lt. and Captain he served as aide de-camp to Generals Grenville Dodge, Washington Elliott, Robert Mitchell and C. J. Stolbrand. He was also one of General Sherman's corps commanders.
