Andrea Underwood Petifer was born in Chapel Hill, raised in Raleigh, and now lives in Durham, North Carolina. She is an educator, author, and curator of care. The past union president's earliest memories of writing took place sitting at the table her grandfather built. She strives to craft stories of truth that inspire reflective practice and promote the possibilities of change for the youngest of readers.
