Autorenporträt
Eleanor Trevithick was born Eleanor Rose Davis in 1918 in the small village of East Charleston, Vermont not far from the Canadian border. Her family moved to Piermont, New Hampshire where they lived out the Great Depression on their rural farm. Although Eleanor spent most of her childhood on the farm, she never took to farm chores. She was just not born to milk cows--she was born to write. She had a full and happy life with her beloved husband, Ken Trevithick and their son Bob in upstate New York. To his parent's delight, Bob finally married the wonderful Viviane. Eleanor lost both Ken and Bob, but she persevered continuing her love of writing until 2015 when she died at the age of 96. It was just a few years earlier that she had a stroke which took away her ability to read for pleasure. Her saving grace was that she could still write on the computer as her words flowed through her fingers though it was painfully slow for her to read her words. She wrote the entirety of her book "Down Under" after her stroke, and then found an earlier story, "The Lady Upstairs," which she finished recently. She published poems, lyrics, and stories, as well as three previous novels: "Chasing My Shadow," "The Hunt for Tanya," and "Down Under." Her joy was to share her writings.
