A psychological thriller/romance about Scott Wilson, an All-Star linebacker from Stanford, whose NFL dreams shatter when he suffers career-ending injuries in his last college game. He then moves to Indianapolis to start his life over and meets Susan Fox, the first woman who has ever loved him for himself, not his athletic prowess.
After graduation, his fellow grad, Ramesh Patel, had also moved to Indiana to start a tech company in Broad Ripple, a cultural center of Indianapolis with a free-spirited vibe, laid-back cafes, international eateries, lively brewpubs, and happening clubs. When they became business partners, Scott led the marketing of a voice-controlled "personal assistant, Roxie," that Ramesh designed to compete with those offered by the industry giants Yukon and Scavenger. Ramesh hijacked his original design with information received from his friends from India in Yukon product development.
Ramesh, regrettably, hired the most vilified person in Indianapolis as his first employee. The Indy media soon revealed that the despicable Jack Blackwell was an expert on the dark side of the internet, listening to the Roxie customers 24/7 in the "privacy" of their homes, scamming them in almost every way possible. The revelation of this sickening invasion of privacy soon forces the Stanford grads out of business. The Roxie customers felt betrayed and angry at Scott for lying about the security of his system. This results in his severe depression caused by yet another failure.
After the unsuccessful start-up, Susan, Scott's love interest and a warrior with metastatic breast cancer, designates him as her medical surrogate. She then steals his heart, hijacks this psychological thriller, and turns Susan's Odyessy into a captivating, unforgettable love story.
