This story is set in a small town called Mt. Union in Oregon. Johnny White is a kid that has a fine love for riding bikes (dirt bikes). Johnny flourishes at doing so. Friends believe Johnny should appreciate his talents. His close friends all know that Johnnys talent would eventually put him up there with some of the best X Games riders. Riding bikes was cool although it was viewed as a sport like baseball or football. Football was a sport Johnny greatly sucked at. There was a hill by the name Dead Man Hill, which only the craziest even attempted. Close friends of Johnny believed that if any kid could do it, it was Johnny. Looking through the garage of Johnnys late father, he stumbles upon his fathers old football equipment. That day, that particular moment, Johnnys life changes forever. While things with his friends are spiraling out of his control, he forms a relationship with a high school crush. While attempting to avoid Dead Man Hill and the riders that dub it as their own, he struggles with the acceptance he receives as being a high school football player.

Darryl C. Johnson is a freelance writer of adults' and children's books and an e-book author. Darryl is a native of his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The sole writer of The Legend of Johnny White, Darryl Johnson has been a part of the writing process since elementary school, where he gained the love for writing being a part of stage plays and other coordinated events. Darryl's devotion to writing led him on a crash course with books and other outlets of writing, such as poetry. This story, the one of Johnny White, hit close to home, not so much as the similarities but more of the base; Johnny was a untalented kid that would do anything to change that. This project, Johnny White, couldn't be possible without the assistance of Trafford Publishing.
