L. Frank Baum, 1856-1919, wuchs im Staat New York auf. Mit 'Der Zauberer von Oz' gelang ihm 1900 der literarische Durchbruch. Neben Fortsetzungsbänden schrieb Lyman Frank Baum weitere Bücher unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen.
