Autorenporträt

Agnes Strickland (17961874) was an English historical writer, novelist, poet, and children's book writer. She collaborated with her older sister Elizabeth on a twelve-volume work entitled The Lives of the Queens of England from 1840 to 1849. Though she began her literary career as a poet, she later abandoned the practice to write historical tales, which are useful but not objective.

Ida Ashworth Taylor (1850-1929) wrote a number of biographies and history books, including Revolutionary Types, Venus Doves, Snow in Harvest, The Tragedy of an Army, Life of Queen Henrietta Maria, and Sir Walter Raleigh.
