He is the light of the world and was sent into the world as light and salvation. He is given the the title Messiah and is the annointed Son of God who is appointed by God. The whole Bible points to Jesus as the Word of God of the Old Testament and the Son of God of the New Testament.

He was spoken of by the Prophets and the prophecies all pointed to Christ. He is the fulfillment of all the prophecies and is the true light and reality of these prophecies and is the fulfilled Lamb of God. As the Lamb he is seen as the one who is given up for us and that his work was finished at the cross.
