INTRODUCTION
All of the information contained in this index has been compiled from publicly accessible sources: annual announcements of new members and databases of active and alumni members continually published by the subject organizations over the years. We have not relied on any other sources, or even on the hearsay from Klaus Schwab himself (Vladimir Putin is not in the list), to determine who YGL and GLT members are.
The best effort has been made to compile a comprehensive list of members, although we cannot guarantee there are no errors or omissions. Also note that, as some members may have opted out of having their memberships formally announced, such members would not be listed herein.
Included details about members are their names, titles or occupations, their associated companies or institutions, the years in which they became members, which organization(s) (GLT or YGL) they joined, and their countries of nationality. The original details from the source have been kept intact, for the most part, except for minor edits for clarity. In listings where details are missing, those details were not originally given. The company or institution and title listed for a member may have changed over time. Also, some members are listed twice, often with many years intervening: a first record was created in the year they joined the legacy GLT group and a second record was made in the year they were made YGL members.
This index is printed in two versions (sold separately), both of which provide the same details about members but are organized differently:
Volume 1, sorted my member name: contains all compiled members' listings (over 3,600 records), alphabetically ordered by person's name. This volume is useful for quickly searching by name to determine whether a person has been a GLT/YGL member.
Volume 2, sorted by member company/institution name: lists only those members for whom associated companies/institutions were originally specified (about 3,350 records), alphabetically ordered by company/institution name. The organization of this volume is intended as an aid for ascertaining whether -and at what level- the culture and objectives of a named company, university, media outlet, government agency, etc., may be aligned with those of the World Economic Forum based on the number of GLT/YGL members in its ranks and the positions of influence that they hold.
