Elizabeth Purcell is the mother of six children, 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, who give her endless story ideas. And because she thinks helping children to read early is so important, most of her books are for early readers. When children engage in reading at an early age, they most likely will become avid readers as adults and in addition better students. And she thinks the best way to capture the imagination of young children is through colorful, amusing illustrations in addition to the words, which in the Buttercup Cottage series are in text balloons, more easily read.
