Autorenporträt
Born on May 26, 1696, Count Saint Germain was the son of Ferencz II Rakoczi, the last monarch of Transylvania, and Princess Charlotte Amadea of Hesse Rheinfels. His first breath of life was taken in Rakoczi Castle, nestled in the majestic Carpathian Mountains. The arrival of Saint Germain was eagerly anticipated and celebrated by his parents. Faced with the impossibility of having children and after numerous unsuccessful medical treatments, Princess Charlotte turned to the wise and traditional healers of the village. Although it's uncertain whether the success was due to conventional medicine or to folk remedies, the princess finally conceived. The childbirth was laborious and prolonged. After the birth, the midwife faced a critical moment: the newborn was not breathing. Despite her efforts and knowledge, she was unable to revive him. The parents, filled with sorrow, resigned themselves to the loss of their longed-for child and placed him in his royal cradle. However, when the princess approached to see her baby, she noticed he began to breathe softly. In her arms, the child grew stronger, eventually letting out his first cry, a sign of life that left everyone astonished. This event raises questions that still linger today: How long was he lifeless? Had he really died? What brought him back to life? This mysterious incident was just the beginning of a life filled with enigmas and mysticism that would characterize the future Count of Saint Germain. At that time, he was still Prince Rakoczi of Transylvania, not the legendary count the world would come to know.
