Academic Paper from the year 2018 in the subject Theology - Biblical Theology, grade: 92.0, , language: English, abstract: This paper the researcher interprets one of the difficult texts in the New Testament, namely Hebrews 6:4-6. First, the paper attempts to set the light on the historical background of the letter (the author, the date of writing and the audiences), understanding the new meaning of faith through the whole letter. This paper argues that there are many views concerning Hebrews 6:4-6. First, the audiences are true believers facing real danger of Apostasy. Second, the audiences are true believers facing hypothetical Apostasy (the author was sure of their faith). Third view claimes that the author has a pastoral crisis with his Christian community. So, he uses the warning tone to keep them on the right track of Faith from the author point of view. The fourth view was speaking about false believers who rejected Jesus Christ when the waves of persecutions crushed them. The paper also presents a personal proposed view of the text; which is the author is trying to shift his audiences from the old Jewish life which was full of rituals to get the repentance; into the new Christian life which is the repentance is depending on Jesus Christ as the high priest who was crucified once and for all.
