However, when her advisors insist that she marry, frustration becomes her new companion. Why does she need a husband? How can she get out of this? Finding a slight loophole, she insists that she will only marry a man her dog approves of.

Which works for a while. Until it doesn't.

It doesn't help her 'forever single' dreams when the man her dog grows close to is a gentle, quiet man she would like to know better as well. A man who might make an excellent husband, but maybe not a great king...
