Adrift on a sea of troubles, in a world of magic!
Coming of age is never easy, but for Thonir, a sixteen-year-old apprentice wizard, it's positively perilous.
Following the calamitous death of his master, our unlucky hero embarks on a series of wild misadventures, as he struggles to climb out of the gutter and resume his magical educationbraving pirates, robbers, and angry peasants along the way, not to mention the occasional sea monster. All of which, while trying to meet girls.
It's a new standalone tale from the quirky medieval world of Ondiran, in the distinctive voice of Sedigitus Swift!

Autorenporträt
After working for the U.S. Department of Justice for twelve years under another name, Sedigitus Swift became one of two in-house historians for Archelaus (because what up-and-coming publisher doesn't need at least two?). He specializes in the perplexities of modern Central and Eastern Europe--that is, when he is not diverting himself by writing offbeat medieval fantasy novellas. He was born in Illinois, grew up in California, went to school in Chicago and New York, and now dwells in Washington, DC, where he does his best to shun actual human contact.
