The protagonist of it Hughie, is a handsome young man, who had a beautiful appearance and he had such an obvious poverty as well. He got 15 books and a sword as a heritage from his father, but this «fortune» was just a memory and nothing else. When he had tried all the possible ways of honest income, the young man lost his heart. He had one more reason for that: his beloved girl's father refused to allow the young man to marry his daughter. What did he have to do? The poor hero set off to his friend, who was an artist.
