This book is not a fictional novel, but rather a work that revives the events witnessed and lived by (Mukhtar Al-Khanshli), and in my work on it I spent hundreds of hours interviewing (Mukhtar) for nearly three years. All of which I could have played my part in activating the memory of Mukhtar or in the historical record, I did so with the help of others who were present. The dialogue included in the work is as narrated by Mukhtar and others. Some names have changed. In all cases where the dialogue took place in Yemen, most likely was in colloquial Arabic. I did my best, with the help of Mokhtar, to accurately convey the text and tone of the dialogues in English. -Dave Eagles
