Five-year-old Toby is having a recurring bad dream. The dreams are scaring him, but after talking everything over with his Mommy, he overcomes several fears. First and foremost, he learns that he can talk to Mommy and Daddy about any problem he has, and they will help him work through it. He also learns other valuable lessons such as dealing with fi rst impressions when coming in contact with new people. He learns that he needs to do more than look at a person?s appearance to determine what they are like. He fi nds out that his dreams cannot harm him. And he discovers the relief of getting to the bottom of a dream. In the story, he realizes that being frightened is okay, but usually not necessary. All turns out well for Toby when he discovers what the monster in his dream really wants, and it isn?t at all what he thinks.

Autorenporträt
I am first of all a child of God, a Christian. After that, I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. I love helping people solve their problems, especially children. I was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of southeastern Kentucky. My mother instilled in me a love for God, reading, and helping people...again, especially children. My hope is that this little story will help make someone's life a bit easier and quieten the fear that is so often a matter of life, whether it be as a child or even a parent or other guiding figure for any child. I am currently 73 years old and working on my "bucket list." Publishing this book is an item on said "list." I love to read and throughout the years have written several short stories. This one came about because of a dilemma my son was dealing with when he was about 5 years old. I wrote it in the hopes that it would help him deal with his fearful predicament. I hope you enjoy "The Monster in Toby's Dream."
