Rabbits on the Moon? Hardly.
A Rob in Japan? Almost as curious!
But there he is... taking a leap.
Nearing the end of his college career, with no clear path forward, Rob decides to punt, er. study abroad. He fills his two new American Touristers to the brim and sets sail for the new world, pulling his big blue whales behind him.
Now he's in a strange country, with no idea of the language, only suspicions about the culture, and an exchange rate gone bananas. All he has to do is survive until Christmas!
And don't get him started on the miso soup or haunted shoeboxes!

RJ Garrity

After more than thirty years living in Japan, Rob Garrity presents his debut novel: The Moon Rabbit. He's a lifelong fan of the English language, and even teaches it in the Far East (Okay, the far east of Osaka, but that's like two hours from his house by train, so that's pretty darned far!)

After half a lifetime abroad, he's sadly lost most of his Wisconsin accent, but has gained a wealth of experience in return, which he's happy to share here, ya Betcha!

Autorenporträt
"RJ Garrity" is Rob Garrity to my friends and students (well, Rob Sensei to the latter guys, but I digress). I grew up on a dairy farm in the small town of Lawrence, outside of De Pere, outside of Green Bay, inside the great state of Wisconsin. My elementary school, high school, and cozy liberal arts college all lined up on the same mile of De Pere City street.

So naturally, I write this profile from the other side of the planet; from a small Castle town south of great big ol' Osaka City. I've lived and worked in Southern Osaka, first at high schools, and then as a part-time university professor for close to forever. I teach English, News English, and Creative Writing (those that can't do and so forth).

So far, I've confined my writing endeavors to lesson plans, English journal assignments and my creative writing course. Oh, and I also write poetry.

A book of poetry will, I hope, find its way here eventually along with the further adventures of Rob Kiernan (that rascal). Other than that, I don't know. It's still a long life... 😁

All the best!

Rob,

(No names were dropped in the writing of this profile. You'll have to take me as I am; recommendably in small doses)
