They observe a mysterious ship that resembles a German submarine but is far bigger than any submarine they have ever seen. They inform the authorities of their sighting, but they are not taken seriously. After their own inquiry, the two pals learn that the ship is a component of a Nazi scheme to obstruct British commerce channels. Autorenporträt
Adventure books for kids were written by English author Percy F. Westerman (1876-1959). He was born in Portsmouth, England, in 1876, and attended Portsmouth Grammar School until he was twenty years old, when he accepted a position as a clerk at Portsmouth Shipyard. In 1900, he was hitched to Portsmouth native Florence Wager. They spent a portion of their honeymoon sailing in the Solent since they were both avid sailors. John F.C. Westerman, their son, was a writer of boys' adventure stories who was born in 1901. When he was 70 years old, a fall caused him to abandon his houseboat and go to dry ground, but he didn't stop writing. His last novel, Mistaken Identity, was released after his death at the age of 82.
