Twenty years after publishing the book Reinventing Confucianism - The New Confucian Movement, - and exactly one hundred years after the publication of Eastern and Western Cultures and Their Philosophies by Liang Shuming (1893-1988), widely considered as the first spark, if not the actual start, of the New Confucian Movement - I take up once again the topic of the New Confucian Movement. Professor, Dept. of Italian Language & Culture, Fujen University, Xinzhuang, Taipei, Taiwan (since 2003). Umberto Bresciani has lived in Taiwan for over 40 years. His main interest is Chinese philosophical and religious thought and comparative theological studies.
