Fictional art expands our experiences and gives us a broader and more comprehensive view of ourselves and the world. Living imaginary personal experiences opens our eyes to problems we used to ignore, and there is always a book that reminds you that people before you lived through it, so the psychoanalyst Erich Fromm suggested studying novels to discover a deep understanding of man. It may not be available to the same extent in psychoanalysis books. The novel derives its power from its ability to relate to man and his daily living reality. Man has realized his need for the novel since he inhabited the earth. Since Adam and Eve left Paradise, they longed for their previous existence in Paradise. When they met on earth, the story was born. It was their means of trying to forget their suffering from... Lost and lonely. Therefore, narrative art can give us our identity as human beings. This is the conviction from which the writer Ahmed Rajab Shaltout proceeds in the readings he presents of about thirty modern Arab fictional texts. He believes that what we are looking for in novels is a better knowledge of man, the world, and life.
