The Obidients' Mandate is a twenty-six Chapter, 172-page book. It derives its name from the massive agitation for real, people-centered presidency under Peter Obi, perceived as the best alternative to the presidential candidates of the People's Democratic Party, PDP and the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, respectively. Even after the polls had been decided by the duplicitous Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the law courts, the 'Obidients' have kept faith with their patriotic resolve to make the country great through peaceful protests, organized virtual and live conferences and social media activism. Thus, the mandate for real social and political change is still ongoing. Hence the title of this book. The chapters dwell on specific topics ranging from voters' registration and verification exercise, the role of INEC, the conduct of the general election, the party primaries and the Obidient Movement rallies that took place in all the states of the federation. Also included is the questionable manner INEC conducted the general election with the Biometric Verification and Accreditation System (BVAS), and its inability to upload the presidential election results in clear violation of the Electoral Act. It also covers the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. You will also read about various intervention of the Judiciary in the electoral process in the country, and the public outcry against some of the verdicts of the law court, which over-turned the results some of the candidates, INEC had already declared as winners. The book also elaborates on some of the activities of the Obidient Movement and the role it played during the pre-party primary rallies and campaigns leading to the Presidential election. It contains detailed account about the activities of the Obidient Movement and its full definition. You will equally read about the relationship between the Labour Party and the Obidient Movement as regards some of the issues that ensured during the campaign rallies and during the period of the general elections. As regards the state of the nation, the author also wrote about the disappointing role of the federal government and INEC's ineptitude as clearly demonstrated by their incapability to defend the tenets of democracy and rather chose to further compound and destroy the already adulterated version of the democracy that is currently in practice in the country.

Autorenporträt
ENDORSEMENTS "March Oyinki has been steadfast and 'Obidient' from when the whistle blew. He has demonstrated his love and admiration, not only for the duo of Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, but, for all who subscribe to the Obidient ideology. If anyone can aptly capture the pre, during, and post-election attitude of the Obidients, it would be March Oyinki." - Denzil Amagbe Kentebe, DDG, South, Obi-Datti Campaign Council "The author, March Oyinki, is a passionate Nigerian and an unapologetic 'Obidient', who is a first timer in politics as a response to rising consciousness of the present realities. The events in this period of the general election, requires a fearless, yet objective and out of the box individuals that can and will continue to sustain the values of transformational leadership that progressively, results in the sustained moral, economic, political and social efforts. March is one of the few new breed of Nigerians working tirelessly to ensure the new Nigeria project comes to fruition." - Dr. Moses Paul, Author, politician, Social Activists, and Team Lead, Free NIGERIA Movement. "The book, 'The Obidient Mandate' is a timely snippet by a prolific writer and patriotic Nigerian who is committed to the struggle for genuine, impactful and transformative Leadership in Nigeria, and the larger society. I describe him as one of the revolutionists of our time" - Comrade Daniel Dumije, National Coordinator/Leader and Coalition of Support Groups (CSG). "March Oyinki, the author of "The Obidients' Mandate," shall most definitely, find a place in the pantheon of patriots committed to a New Day and a New Deal for the masses of our Country. He is a dyed-in-the-wool Obidient and one desirous of a New Nigeria that works for all. His book is a testament of the Peoples' Power and their ability and determination to rupture a cycle of hate, want, poverty, oppression and despondency. The author foretells a future assured and a hope guaranteed through the instrumentality of a Movement. 'The Obidient Movement', which soars above our traditional fault lines, ditto, region and religion has redefined our politics and paved the pathway to a New Nigeria, and such is the spirit chronicled in March Oyinki's work. I wish the Author and the Work great success." - Prof. Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr. Convener Country First Movement and. A Leading Obidient.
