Before leaving to return to His Father, the Lord Jesus commanded His disciples to make disciples and to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. While that command has been understood and followed by Christians since that time, the question of how this is to be done and who should be baptized became a subject of great debate from the second century onward.

While I cannot be completely objective in this study, my hope is that it will encourage a deeper understanding among believers of different perspectives.
