A journey to the south coast of Devonshire with friends throws the sisters into the company of wildly attractive Admiral Tennant, recently widowed Charles Creighton, and opinionated Cecil Walford. As each lady experiences the diversions of the seaside resort with adventures by land and by sea, they discover romance, intrigue, renewal, and are challenged by tests of loyalty and honor. All framed by the unspoken question "Is it too late for love?"

The Pleasure of Her Company is part of a collection of sequels and side stories inspired by Jane Austen's novels. The first, Her Summer at Pemberley (2020) tells Kitty Bennet's story after Pride & Prejudice.

SALLIANNE HINES is a great fan of all things Austen. And Tolkien, Mary Stolz, Georgette Heyer, Marie Kondo, and many more. After publishing numerous nonfiction articles and essays over the years, she decided to try her hand at fiction and followed the adage to "write the book you want to read." The result is her first novel written, Love & Stones, a contemporary story about a seasoned heroine, published November 2020. Her second novel, Her Summer at Pemberley, is a sequel to Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, which tells the story of Kitty Bennet. Two more novels are in progress in her Austenesque "Mothers, Sisters, Friends" collection. The Pleasure of Her Company (Mrs. Dashwood's story) will launch late 2022.

Sallianne is a lifelong horsewoman, mother of three, grandmother of eight, and shares her home with a boss cat and two dogs (who give way to said cat). They all live in a little house on the prairie. Really.
