I am a mother, sister, friend, family member, and author who discovered one of her many passions in writing. Im a Memphis native, born and raised. From the rhythm of my city, I created the woman that I am today. Im a recent graduate of Bethel University, where I received my bachelors of science, concentration in business and organizational development in professional studies. This book reveals my journey on self-improvement because I know where I used to be and how far Ive come and continued to grow. Im what society labels as the statistic. I come from a broken home with no father figure and a mom who passed away when I was a teenager. I write to remind myself and many young women that come from humble beginnings that its possible for each of us to reach success with self-discipline and by keeping God first in all we do. I dont have to sell myself or settle for less, and I know that Im more than a beautiful face. I have a brain, and this book shares the once shy wallflower that I used to be and the woman who Im becoming.
