The previous book was published in the year 1920, and Gibran was at the time exhausted by many works, as a sick solution in the Azhar Park, as reported in his letter to Michael Naima. It is his second book in English (on Dar Knov). The "former" appeared as "crazy" in a small pieces, because his author, according to what Mary Haskel said, considered this pieces of the best conditions for the book, and he said to her about it: "We have to learn how to criticize ourselves. The poet sees a vision while he is in another world and when he returns From his world, he tries to cut his visions, he may not succeed in elaborating in a poem or painting. Perhaps this experience made Gibran adopt the legendary or symbolic story in the "previous", which involved twenty -four short tales and a poem spreading with an introduction. Tales are of a mystical and ethical character indirectly, as in the stories of the Bible or "Kalila and Dimna".
