George Phillip Krapp was a distinguished philologist and professor of English at Columbia University. Gilbert M. Tucker - from 1897-1911 he was editor-in-chief of this magazine under the title the Country Gentleman. He served as president of the New York State Agricultural Society, and as a trustee of Cornell University from 1905-1906.
