John Cordy Jeaffreson (1831-1901) was an English novelist and author of popular non-fiction. He also spent periods teaching and as an inspector of historical documents. Jeaffreson initially wrote novels and later switched to witing biographies of famous people, such as Lord Byron, Lord Nelson and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
