Corneliu Filip was born in Botosani, Romania, in March of 1948. He spent several years studying both history and philosophy at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University before working as a journalist, radio reporter and commentator for Radio Romania News in a variety of countries including Moldova and France.
He became a Doctor in Contemporary History in 2005, focusing on Romania and the Warsaw Military Treaty (1955-1911).
Corneliu Filip has published 23 books including reports, stories and travel notes from all over the world, including places such as Bora Bora, Easter Island and Tasmania.
He published the Transnistria Dossier, the history of a frozen conflict, in 2012.
