Corneliu Filip was born in Botosani, Romania, in March of 1948. He spent several years studying both history and philosophy at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University before working as a journalist, radio reporter and commentator for Radio Romania News in a variety of countries including Moldova and France.
He became a Doctor in Contemporary History in 2005, focusing on Romania and the Warsaw Military Treaty (1955-1911).
