Andrew Ralston is an experienced researcher into the history of crime in Scotland as well as being a former teacher. He has written numerous academic and educational works. This new book includes first-hand material from key figures, such as the relatives of former CID chiefs and the personal reminiscences of ex-Superintendent Joe Beattie who knew the author for twenty-five years.
