This book is fast, fun read and a fascinating period piece. Written during World War I, it is low on actual war and high on sightseeing in Paris, touring the rear trenches (where the soldiers have somehow managed to grow a garden!), and living in an awesome little house on the grounds of a tumbledown chateau than actual nursing.
And also romances, of course: each of the four nurses has a romance in the offing.
