Autorenporträt


Octavius Brooks Frothingham (18221895) was the first historian of transcendentalism and a second-generation transcendentalist. Born in Massachusetts, he graduated from Harvard College in 1843 and from its Divinity School in 1846. He wrote a number of books, including A Child's Book of Religion and Beliefs of Unbelievers, and several volumes of sermons.
