"The Rescure: A Romance of the Shallows" is a novel by Joseph Conrad, published for the first time in 1920. The work, however, was completed with great difficulty: Conrad, in fact, began working on the novel in the spring of 1896, but soon abandoned the project, and then resumed it the following year. But even in 1897 the work was shelved by the writer.
