Autorenporträt
Debra D. Castaldo, Ph.D., also known as Dr. Deb, is a nationally recognized relationship expert who has spent over 35 years as a couples' and family therapist devoted to helping couples, families, and individuals learn how to love well and return to love once they discover they have fallen out of love. Dr. Deb has a deep understanding of the complexity of love, how difficult it can be to find, and how easily it can be lost, due to her personal experience with young adult marriage, midlife divorce, dating at midlife, and single life. She also has first hand knowledge of the challenges of falling in and out of love, break ups, make ups, and everything in between. Her therapeutic approach with couples is informed by her awareness that she has made the same mistakes many people make on their journey with love. Early in her career , she was also deeply impacted by her work with child abuse and neglect, foster care, and adoption as a child protective service social worker. It was in that role that she gained a profound understanding of the pervasive effect of lack of love and healthy relationship skills on children, couples, and families. Her unique therapeutic philosophy is a hope-filled, solution oriented, and strength based model. She holds a strong belief in the capacity of individuals to heal their relationship dilemmas with their own creative inspiration to build solutions. She holds firm beliefs that many couples can heal their broken relationships, but also that relationships should not cause harm, suffering, or lack of fulfillment. Dr. Deb has been a featured guest expert on such networks as ABC, NBC, CNN, Comcast, and WLNY/CBS. She has also been featured in Ladies Home Journal, Woman's Day, Shape, Redbook, and More magazines. She has been featured online on Newsweek Online, HuffPost, Epoch Times, Woman's Health, and Popsugar.com.
