The saga of a family of mice - the Browns - and their friends, Bruno the donkey, Lucy the lamb, and Pedro the pigeon, continue in this second book. The saga of a family of mice - the Browns - and their friends, Bruno the donkey, Lucy the lamb, and Pedro the pigeon, continue in this second book. The first book concluded with the Brown family weeping, as Joseph had firmly told them that they could not follow them to Egypt, as God had told Joseph to do. But with their departure also went the internal peace that surrounded them when baby Jesus was in their presence. Meanwhile, Herod the Great, King of Judea, had ordered the killing of all Jewish boys under the age of three because the magi had told him that the King of the Jews had been born, and Herod considered that a threat to his rule. Amongst the mayhem, the Browns and their friends, hitch a ride to Nazareth, where Mr. Brown successfully re-establishes his Mouse Transportation Company. Time passes then a family of three moves into a house a few doors down from the Browns. The young family looks eerily familiar. Could it possibly be Joseph, Mary, and Jesus, who was now a young boy? If it is, would the Browns experience that internal peace they knew in Bethlehem when Jesus was just a newborn baby? Will the Browns finally discover the true purpose of Jesus's presence on Earth? Discover the answer in this second volume.
