The Rising Son is about the death and resurrection of Jesus and it's the sequel to One Glorious Night, which focuses on His birth. Once again, there are seven stories by seven different people who knew and loved Jesus, and who watched Him die on the cross that very dark day many years ago. Each story is filled with Scriptural facts and highlighted with emotion as they each tell their story of what they experienced that day when Jesus died on the cross.
The purpose of this book is to help readers understand who Jesus is and why He came to be our Savior. Together with biblical facts, you'll see the impact it had on the lives as of those who walked with Him, and hopefully, you will be able to see through their eyes and see what they saw in God's love that was fulfilled that day on the cross.
The Old Testament prophets talked about it, and the faithful men and women of God lived for it. They knew that a Savior would come one day who would redeem them back to God, and so they waited and hoped for the promised Messiah. This promise that God made to the Jews was manifest in the New Testament with the birth of Jesus and was fulfilled on Calvary's cross with His death and resurrection. His earthly life is set out in the four gospels of the New Testament, and these are the passages referenced in this book.
The world doesn't know God or appreciate the salvation He provided because the people don't realize that they are sinners in need of a Savior. They see Easter as a time to celebrate spring with colorful bunnies and awesome egg hunts. But it has nothing to do with how or why Christians celebrate. The world can honor Easter any it wants, but Christians honor God because He gave His own Son as a ransom for our lives! Easter is a time to celebrate our salvation!
