Marta Brkovi¿ Dodig is Assistant Professor at Union University Nikola Tesla in Belgrade, Serbia. She has been researching, teaching and practicing architecture in Serbia, England, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, and the USA. Her main interests lie in sustainable design, learning environments design and pedagogic architecture, participatory architecture, research and design methods in architecture, architecture and built environment education, and games in architecture and urban planning. Currently, she holds the Alexander von Humboldt PostDoc position at the Chair for Urban Design and Urban Development, TU Berlin, Germany, where she explores international policy and practice in built environment education for children and young people. Linda N. Groat is Professor of Architecture at the University of Michigan. Her areas of expertise include: environmental meaning, participatory processes in design, empirical aesthetics, place theory, and gender and minority issues in architectural education. Her special focus in doctoral education has been on research design and methods; and her co-authored book, Architectural Research Methods (2002, 2nd edition 2013, both editions in Chinese) is used both in the US and internationally. Her research has been published widely to reach both professional and academic audiences in journals such as: Architecture, Progressive Architecture, Journal of Architectural Education, and Journal of Environmental Psychology.
