Author Jack Sinclair struggles every day to make a living in one of the most horrifying future worlds. He rarely knows, whether he will have enough funds left until the end of the month, since most of the few remaining readers seek highly similar AI-generated e-books. His not so glamorous, but peaceful life takes an even darker turn one day when members of the dreaded Security Service of the Empire that rules the Earth knock on his door. Sinclair is taken away on ridiculous charges, sentenced to seven years of forced labor. Before he knows it, he's in a helium mine on the Moon. All he wants after 5 years of hard work is to get out alive and relatively sane, when the Governor General, the tyrant lord of the Empire, and his daughter, Princess Alysia pay a visit to the moon base for an inspection tour. The encounter changes Sinclair's perspective: he realizes that mere survival and a subsequent existence in a nightmare system is not enough, he has to do something urgently. There is no time to waste, the world needs him now: an upgraded, more robust version of the already running MindCare, a behavior control transmission, could be activated any second to turn "sleepwalker" citizens into centrally controlled bio-robots all around the world. Once Sinclair escapes, he finds himself entangled in a frantically escalating, life-threatening chain of events. In the end, we will see whether a handful of courageous people can protect the chance of intelligent and humane life on this planet. - It is an exciting dystopian science fiction book, however, it is particularly interesting, because it deals with future situations that originate in our world today, issues we might encounter sooner than we expect. It is hard to dismiss the thought that this imaginary, fantasy future world - maybe not in the near future - but sooner or later may easily become a reality...
