Autorenporträt
The Sandpiper is my fourth book of poetry. Butterflies and Bumblebees and Apron Full of Apples were published by Lifevest Publishing Co. and Frog Houses was published by Xlibris Publishing Co. I was the youngest child in a family of eight children in rural Danville, Alabama born to Buck and Minnie Way. We were farmers and life was not soft but it was good. Growing up on a farm gave one an appreciation for the outdoors and nature. thus, a poet named Annie Way was born. I moved to Elberton Georgia in 1975 and became Mother of The Year in 1980. This was my greatest honor. i became the Elberton Elementary School's Secretary the year my youngest started kindergarten and later I went to work as a Medical Secretary for the Medical Center in Elberton, a job from which i recently retired. It is my hope that you will feel my emotions as you walk with me down the pen and ink path of my lifetime. May you feel the pain in the loss of my husbands and hold my hand as i fight to find light again. It is my prayer that you can find comfort from these words from my heart as you face some of the struggles that i have faced. We each have a unique and special role as we take our place in this play called Life on our trip around this beautiful world God has afforded us.
